Responsibility?
The other evening, as I was thinking of the many who shirk their responsibilities
and try to shift them to someone
or something else; the question came to mind: “Who carries the most
important responsibility of all?” Is it the
elder, preacher, policeman, mayor, president, the school principal,
etc,...or who?
The scriptures tell us in Titus 2 for the women to be keepers
at home, to guide the house. She is spoken of in Proverbs as one who rises
early, clothes and feeds her family, buys and sells a field...her hands
are never idle. It has been said of yore that the “hand that rocks the
cradle rules the world.” Many a godly woman has reared her sons to be sound
gospel preachers, song directors, elders, faithful men of God; and her
daughters to be Christian mothers, dressing in chaste apparel, watching
her manners, and to be in submission to her husband.
Yes, can there be anyone with more responsibility and influence
for good than a truly godly woman? Therefore, let the older women teach
the younger women that they may learn to teach their children, love their
husbands, and guide their homes as God would have them, knowing that one
day we must all give an account to God for the deeds done while on earth.
